Antenatal Clinics are held every Thursday afternoon by appointment. The community midwife is present at the antenatal clinics and provides care before, during and after childbirth. Urine samples need to be submitted before 11.15am for sending to the
hospital. If the test is positive please arrange to see your
doctor. Usually the first antenatal visit is made at home by the
midwife; she will contact you to arrange this.
All of the practice nurses are able to perform smears. Patients are
encouraged to book into the treatment room for their regular smears. We
no longer restrict the choice of appointment to a clinic. This enables
women to fit routine screening procedures into their busy lifestyles at
a convenient time.
Chronic Diseases include Heart Disease, Stroke, Transient Ischaemic
Attacks, Diabetes, Hypertension, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary
disease and Asthma.
A wide variety of joint and soft tissue injections can be performed
by certain doctors at the Practice.
Many small lumps and bumps are surgically treatable at the Practice. Please make an appointment to see a doctor for an initial diagnosis
to be made.
TRAVELLING ABROAD? If you are travelling abroad and have at lease six weeks notice please arrange an appointment for travel advice with the practice nurse at your earliest convenience as often more than one appointment will be needed for vaccinations. Our practice nurses will advise with regard to travel requirements and will administer any vaccinations, which may be necessary. A fee may be payable for some of these. Please enquire at reception.
Warts are caused by a virus that is in your skin. This will stay with
you for life, but warts will go on their own eventually once your body
has built up an immunity to them. They can last 18 months to 2 years and
are contagious when present. Verrucae are also warts and they can follow
the same pattern. |
